Before detox begins every patient will receive a comprehensive initial assessment. An experienced nurse will remain in the patients home 24 hours a day throughout the agreed period of detox. Every patient is allocated their very own Personal Care Co-ordinator to provide advice and support to the family, educate with regard addiction, advise on diet, exercise and other aspects of recovery.

Detox at home involves the systematic withdrawal from an addictive drug whilst in the familiar surroundings of your own home. The are a number of advantages over residential detoxification;

Pre-detoxification aims to provide the patient with clear information about the home detox process, including specifics concerning proposed start and finish date, treatment plan and contact information.

Every patient is individual and our effective treatment plan is designed to suit their needs. If a home detox is considered not appropriate − other forms of treatment can be provided/discussed. Post detoxification treatment will be recommended by the Personal Care Co-ordinator to enable continuity of care, as Home Detox should be seen as a first stage, towards longer term recovery.
