# PROMIS

> PROMIS is a private mental health and addiction clinic in the UK, family-owned since 1986, with two small residential clinics: Hay Farm in the Kent countryside and Kendrick Mews in South Kensington, London. Addiction, mental health conditions, eating disorders and behavioural addictions are treated together rather than in sequence.

## About

PROMIS is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It has treated more than 5,500 patients over 35 years and remains family-owned and operated. Care is formulation-led and personalised: daily one-to-one therapy, group therapy, medically supervised detox where it is needed, and weekly psychiatric input throughout treatment. Roughly half of the people treated come for mental health difficulties rather than addiction.

The clinical team includes therapists, nurses, a primary care physician and consultant psychiatrists. PROMIS is not a psychiatric hospital; it is a mental health and addiction clinic. It is part of the same group as Cardinal Clinic, a consultant psychiatrist-led private psychiatric hospital in Windsor, and can arrange an admission there when hospital-level psychiatric care is needed.

PROMIS is also home to the PROMIS Research Group, which developed the Shorter PROMIS Questionnaire (SPQ), a widely used screening instrument for addictive behaviours.
