GABI MIND
After more than 20 years working as a senior university lecturer, I made a meaningful career change into psychotherapy, bringing with me a deep understanding of learning, reflection, and human development. I trained as a person-centred therapist and have since worked extensively with individuals affected by childhood trauma, with a particular focus on bereavement and supporting families who have survived
domestic violence. My work is grounded in compassion, safety, and collaboration, creating a space where clients feel heard, empowered, and respected.
My therapeutic approach is both solution-focused and trauma-informed. I support clients to understand their experiences while also helping them identify practical ways to move forward, build resilience, and regain a sense of control in their lives. I place strong emphasis on stabilisation, nervous system regulation, and working at a pace that feels safe for each individual.
I am committed to ongoing professional development and currently training as a Cold-Water Therapist, with plans to begin formal training in somatic therapy shortly. These modalities complement my existing practice by supporting embodied healing and deeper mind-body awareness. Working at PROMIS allows me to be part of the healing power of nature. I feel privileged to witness our clients connecting with it during their time here. I am happiest when swimming in the sea, all year round!
